Composite (Tooth Colored) Restorations
Composite is a resin material that provides excellent esthetics along with good durability which is needed for daily functioning.
A porcelain veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the esthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface.
A porcelain crown is a porcelain fixed dental prothesis that restores a clinical crown. This type of restoration allows for a crown to be created that looks and feels just like a natural tooth.
Tooth Whitening can be accomplished by either in-office or at-home bleaching systems.
A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental restorative material used to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure. The structural loss typically results from caries (cavities) or external trauma.
A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. They are typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement.
Endodontics (Root Canals)
Endodontic therapy is a sequence of treatment for the pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. This set of procedures is commonly referred to as a “root canal.”
A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to render the tooth non-restorable. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment.
Teeth cleaning (prophylaxis) by a dental hygienist removes tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine toothbrushing. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing as well as debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth.
Dental sealants are dental treatments consisting of applying a plastic material to one or more teeth, for the intended purpose of preventing dental caries (cavities) or other forms of tooth decay.
Emergency care includes treatment for tooth pain, chipped teeth, broken restorations, etc.
Dentures and Partial Dentures
Complete dentures or full dentures are worn by patients who are missing all of the teeth in a single arch (I.e. the maxillary (upper) or mandibular (lower) arch). Removable partial dentures are for patients who are missing some of their teeth on a particular arch.
Periodontal (Gum) Treatment
The objective of scaling and root planing, otherwise known as conventional periodontal therapy, or non-surgical periodontal therapy, is to remove or eliminate the etiologic agents which cause inflammation: dental plaque, its products and calculus, thus helping to establish a periodontium that is free of disease.
We provide dental care for children of all ages. It is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) that a dental visit should occur within six months after the presence of the first tooth or by a child’s first birthday.
